Once you're at the car you want to rent, unlock it with a push of a button in the Free2move app. Choose whether you prefer car rental per minute or a long term car rental rate – then start your trip! You don’t have to stay in the city, and any fueling costs are on us.

Drop off anywhere

Simply end your trip anywhere in the Home Area — no cumbersome drop off inspections, no paperwork! Public street parking in the Home Area is for free¹, and you’ll be exactly where you need to be, rather than at a car hire shop!

Where can I park for free?

Outside Rome

You can leave the Home Area for as long as you like – as long as you bring the car back to end your trip. To park and stopover, simply lock the car without ending your trip.

On The Streets & Car-sharing Parking

Public street parking is always for free within the Home Area.¹ Plus: You can take advantage of several car-sharing parking spots in Rome. Simply look for "P" signs in the app.

We have 11 dedicated parking spots. Enjoy direct access by car over Via Marsala 53, by foot over staircase in Via Giolitti 48 or through the staircases/elevators at platforms n°11 and n°12.

Airports in Rome

We're available at Rome Fiumicino Airport and Rome Ciampino Airport! There are dedicated car-sharing parking spots at the airport where you can find and drop off our cars. An airport fee will apply.

ZTL (Restricted Traffic Zones)

You can drive and park with Free2move in restricted traffic zones (Zona a Traffico Limitato) – but not all! To ease congestion and pollution, these zones are usually reserved for public transportation only. In Rome, you may access all ZTLs except for Tridente (A1).

Drop Off Zones

From shopping outlets to popular neighbourhoods, we have convenient drop off zones in areas just outside Rome where you can park and end your trip. A drop off fee will apply.
