Unlike our "free-floating" cars that you can pick up and leave anywhere within a city zone, the station-based model requires you to pick up and return the vehicle to a specific Home Station. It’s perfect for planned trips of any length, giving you the peace of mind of a dedicated spot to start and end your journey.

Which vehicles are available?

We offer combustion engine (ICE) vehicles for this service, typically including models like the Peugeot 208 and the Opel Mokka. These are ideal for longer distances where you might not want to worry about charging stops.

How do I book a station-based car?

Accepted Answer

✅Open the Free2move app and look for the icon with three cars side-by-side.

✅Select your desired pick-up and drop-off dates/times (available from 30 minutes up to 30 days).

✅Choose your vehicle and select your coverage/insurance preference.

✅Confirm your booking.

Note: We recommend booking at least 12 hours before your departure.

Where can I find the keys?

Once you have reserved the vehicle through the app and arrived at the Home Station, you will find the car key inside the glove compartment.

Is there a damage check?

Accepted Answer

Yes. For your protection, a photo check-in is mandatory. You must take 4 photos of the vehicle via the app before starting your trip to report any existing damage.

Is fuel included in the price?

Accepted Answer

Return the car with the same amount of fuel as when you started. If you return it with less fuel, we will charge 2€ per liter for the difference, plus a service fee:

50€: If the tank is nearly empty (below 10% capacity).
20€: If the tank is more than 10% lower than your starting level.

Tip: Always snap a photo of your fuel gauge at pick-up and drop-off to avoid disputes!

What are the refueling rules?

Pick-up: You will receive the car with a full tank.

Return: You must return the car with the same fuel level it had at pick-up (and it must be at least 25% full to avoid fees).

Where do I return the car?

Accepted Answer

The vehicle must be returned to the exact same Home Station where you picked it up.

Madrid: Return to 62 Dr. Esquerdo.

Paris: Return to Gaîté Montparnasse.

Can I drop the car at the airport?

Accepted Answer

No. Airport drop-offs are strictly prohibited for station-based vehicles. Only free-floating vehicles support airport trips.

Can I return it to a different Free2move station?

Accepted Answer

No. Each vehicle is tied to its specific "Home Station." Returning it elsewhere will result in additional fees.

Question 12

Why can't I end my trip in the app?

Accepted Answer

Ensure the following:

✅You are at the correct Home Station.

✅The fuel level is the same as when you picked up the car.

✅You have performed the photo check-out (if prompted).

Question 13

How do I return my car in Paris?

Accepted Answer

Use the badge: You'll find a dedicated parking badge inside the car (check the glovebox). If the gate doesn't open automatically, hold the badge near the contactless reader (do not insert).

Use the same entrance: Return at the same address used for pickup.

End the trip: Park, return the badge to its spot inside the car, and exit on foot via the same path.
